The course for the absolute beginner, to learn the basics and enjoy the delights of sailing aboard a cruising yacht.
A course aimed at the complete novice who would like to try sailing for the first time before signing up to do their Competent Crew course or something similar. The weekend is run by friendly instructors who understand you may be apprehensive, with the emphasis very much on fun and enjoyment. We are sure you will not want to leave at the end of the course!
Your instructor will guide you through the safety procedures and make sure you are comfortable and at ease aboard your yacht before you set sail. He or she will show you all the basics and will be there to support you at every stage, but by the end of your first weekend aboard you will have accomplished so much.
Holders of the Start Yachting certificate can go on to complete the Competence Crew course in a reduced time of three days or two weekends.
You may find you’re a natural and hooked for life. This course is ideal as a gift experience.
